Arabic is thought to be difficult mainly because of the fact that words are read and written from right to left, which is unlike a majority of languages. Pronunciation can sometimes be very difficult, and the vowels and script can take a while to pick up and use properly. Additionally, Arabic has root words, which permeate into other contexts and meanings of different words and can be confusing.
